چکیده
Abstract Aim To review extremity soft tissue sarcoma (ESTS) in MSK unit Glasgow Royal Infirmary. assess reliability of PERSARC nomogram estimating outcomes FNCLCC Grade II and III ESTS. Method A retrospective study 72 patients with primary ESTS, treated surgically at GRI from 2010-2015 was performed. Patients were followed up as per local protocol to 10 years. Overall survival (OS), Local recurrence (LR) Distant metastasis (DM) 3 years 5 post-op calculated used estimate predicted OS, LR DM post-op. The ESTS assessed using discrimination calibration. Concordance index discrimination. Calibration plot Results Observed 5-year 77.78%, 12.5% 27.77% respectively. indices for 3-year 0.82, 0.68 0.70 0.77, 0.69 0.66 showed underestimated OS. good calibration DM. Conclusions discriminative ability DM, OS the concordance >0.7 could be beneficial guide shared decision making between healthcare professionals, leading focused personalised care

Prognostic Factors in Soft Tissue Sarcoma
Soft tissue sarcoma (STS) represents a heterogeneous group of mesenchymal malignant tumors with variable natural history. This term was first introduced to describe a circumscribed neoplasm consisting of malignant fat cell occurring principally in the trunk (Abernethy, 1817). Nowadays, more than 30 types of STS have been described, and many of these present innumerable subtypes. Despite this wi...
متن کاملPrognostic factors in soft tissue sarcoma.
The ability to accurately define the prognosis for patients with soft tissue sarcoma is a continuing challenge. Classically, this has been accomplished through assessments of tumor size, histologic grade, location, and the presence of nodal or distant metastases. These criteria are the basis of the currently utilized American Joint Commission on Cancer (AJCC) staging system. However, several ot...

Radical surgery for colorectal cancer is undoubtedly necessary for stages I, II and III and must consider the removal of the intestinal segment and the relative afferent lymph node stations affected by the tumor. This surgical technique called Complete Mesocolon Excision seems to satisfy an optimal oncological quality. The aim of this retrospective preliminary study is to verify the actual poss...
متن کاملRadiotherapy for Soft Tissue Sarcoma of the Proximal Lower Extremity
Soft-tissue sarcoma (STS) is a histopathologically diverse group of tumors accounting for approximately 10,000 new malignancies in the US each year. The proximal lower extremity is the most common site for STS, accounting for approximately one-third of all cases. Coordinated multimodality management in the form of surgery and radiation is often critical to local control, limb preservation, and ...
